This recognition is for our campaign with Advanced Hardware Supply, where we connected online and offline channels in a whole new way to create personalized experiences that drove a significant increase in B2B sales. Our award-winning project with Advanced Hardware Supply really stood out because of how it tackled a common problem. We seamlessly integrated their existing offline order management system with product information from over 180 different manufacturers. While most digital transformations of this kind take years and involve costly platform overhauls, we built a brand new commercial accounts portal in just twelve months.
This portal gives buyers real-time access to stock levels and custom pricing, which is a big deal since their discounts can change for every single customer, product, and manufacturer. In a space where APIs and webhooks are often nowhere to be found, we tackled these challenges head-on. We broke the project into smaller, manageable pieces, which allowed Advanced Hardware Supply to launch the new portal quickly, without having to change their core software. This gave them a major leg up on the competition.
Measurable Impact and Success
The new commercial accounts portal turned out to be a major home run. In its first year alone, it facilitated nearly 3,000 orders and sold over 169,000 products. This effort helped bump Advanced Hardware Supply’s annual sales up by an impressive 27%.
What’s even more remarkable is the customer engagement. B2B companies in the commercial construction world often struggle to get customers to shift from in-person to online ordering. Yet, our solution saw almost 40% of existing customers make the switch in the first year alone—that’s a huge jump compared to the industry average, which is usually less than 15%. The portal also pulled in 370 new commercial accounts, effectively doubling the client’s volume in that category right from the start. All this success comes down to a simple, user-friendly design and rich data resources that make the ordering process so much easier for contractors and fabricators.
Creative Elements and Execution
A major hurdle for this project was Advanced Hardware Supply’s outdated inventory system and the mess of inconsistent data from various manufacturers. We got creative, using a mix of data scraping, standardization, and AI verification tools to build a comprehensive product database of over 40,000 SKUs from scratch. We then developed a set of tools that connected flawlessly with our client’s in-house ordering and inventory systems, paving the way for the new commercial accounts portal to launch on their revamped website. This smart, tech-driven approach didn’t just digitize all that amazing product knowledge their sales team had; it made it easily accessible online, which streamlined ordering and boosted sales.
